Identity Relationship Management Visionary and Thought Leader Eve Maler Joins ForgeRock(TM)

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 16, 2014) - ForgeRock Inc., the leading open platform provider of Identity Relationship Management (IRM) solutions, today announced that Eve Maler has joined the company as vice president of innovation and emerging technology. She will report directly to Founder and Chief Technology Officer Lasse Andresen. Maler will draw upon her 30 years of experience at companies including Sun Microsystems, PayPal and most recently Forrester Research, where she was principal analyst. In her new role, Eve will help ForgeRock push the boundaries of IRM and drive customer innovation.

Maler is a renowned strategist in the areas of digital identity, access, security and privacy, with a particular focus on creating successful wide-scale ecosystems. In her illustrious career, Maler has a long history of building standard interoperability solutions that respond to the real needs of individuals and businesses. While at PayPal, Eve architected consumer identity service solutions. As a technology director at Sun Microsystems, Eve co-founded and edited the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) standard, now the most popular and broadly adopted open protocol for web user single sign-on. Maler also founded and chairs the User-Managed Access (UMA) working group. UMA is an emerging standard based on the OAuth protocol for API security. Lastly, Eve is recognized as a co-inventor of the Extensible Markup Language (XML) data interchange languages used worldwide.

"Eve brings deep expertise on the evolution and future of identity and access management that will help ForgeRock stay at the forefront of new customer-centric solutions," said Mike Ellis, CEO of ForgeRock. "She is recognized in the industry as a visionary and innovator based on the breadth and depth of her experience and her perspective as vendor, end-user and analyst. I look forward to her contributions to the advancement of Identity Relationship Management."

"IRM is at a pivotal inflection point and ForgeRock is leading the transformation to new external, customer focused solutions," said Maler. "We can see from every breach-of-the-week that consumer security and privacy are in a fragile state. At the same time, API-connected services and network-connected devices are demanding new sophistication in access control. The time is absolutely right to devote all my effort to the innovation side of the equation."
