Idiom and Blast Radius Partner to Provide Comprehensive Global Content Creation and Delivery Solution

WALTHAM, Mass. & VANCOUVER, BC--(CCNMatthews - Oct 18, 2005) -

Companies Demonstrate the Value of Adopting a Topic-Oriented Approach to Accelerate the Delivery of Consistent, High-Quality Global Business Information

Idiom® Technologies, Inc. (Idiom), the only enterprise software company to deliver advanced XML-based publishing and content globalization solutions, and Blast Radius Inc., the world leader in XML content creation and collaboration solutions, today announced the launch of a joint solution that provides a single, comprehensive system for global content delivery. The integrated solution is based on Idiom WorldServer™ and Blast Radius XMetaL® software. In addition, the companies have launched a road show comprised of a series of presentations, Webinars and tradeshow appearances to demonstrate the value of the WorldServer-XMetaL solution.

Combined, WorldServer and XMetaL enable global organizations - especially those with complex content communications requirements - to speed the transition to modern, topic-oriented approaches using accepted industry standards like XML. Users can quickly capitalize on the benefits of a structured, single-source environment including decreased costs, and improved quality and productivity related to the delivery of global marketing materials, products and websites.

"This partnership is of great value to organizations seeking a best-of-breed content delivery solution that combines proven technologies into a single, easy-to-use topic-oriented environment," said Robert Miller, vice president of marketing, Blast Radius. "We have been impressed with the customer traction Idiom has established around its WorldServer solution and its emphasis on the importance of integrating globalization into the content delivery process. Moreover, with the demonstrated value of XML-based technologies, it is our mandate to partner with companies that share our desire to put the power of industry standards like XML into as many customers' hands as possible to ensure they reap the related cost and quality benefits."

Blast Radius recently announced availability of its XMetaL® Author DITA Edition, an XML application built exclusively for authoring and publishing content using DITA. XMetaL Author DITA Edition complements Idiom WorldServer™ OpenTopic, the first commercially-available solution to guide organizations' entry into DITA publishing. With the combined products, customers will benefit from a comprehensive DITA publishing system with an industry-leading DITA authoring environment, along with the proven XML content repository, globalization support and production-quality DITA output from WorldServer OpenTopic, an optional add-on module to WorldServer™ Global Electronic Publishing.

"We have been looking for a solid partner to go to market with a complete solution to help customers reduce the time and costs associated with implementing an XML-based content delivery system from scratch. Blast Radius is an excellent fit from a technology and customer commitment perspective," said Dave Rosenlund, vice president of marketing and business development, Idiom Technologies. "While initial deployments will be targeted at organizations with significant technical documentation challenges, longer-term implementations could include website globalization initiatives -- extending DITA's benefits beyond its documentation roots."
