IE Discovery's Chris May Presents at IQPC Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Conference

Panel Discussion Covers International Document Review

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - September 29, 2009) - IE Discovery, a leading provider of comprehensive Discovery Management solutions to the legal community was recently represented by its CEO, Chris May, on the faculty of the IQPC Foreign Corrupt Practices Act conference. The conference took place on September 22 and 23, 2009 in Washington, D.C. and Mr. May was part of a panel discussion entitled, "International Document Review: How To Streamline Your Investigation."

The conference was designed to help companies mitigate risks of civil and criminal penalties related to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, as the annual number of FCPA enforcements has increased by more than 1400% since 2003. The conference's Expert Advisory Board included partners from major law firms such as DLA Piper and Shearman & Sterling, as well as the former Deputy Attorney General of the United States, Paul J. McNulty. Topics included enforcement trends, anti-corruption efforts, internal investigations and compliance strategies.

In his panel discussion, "International Document Review: How To Streamline Your Investigation," Mr. May covered topics such as dealing with foreign language and translation, access to documents across national lines, identification of relevant documents and concept searching and clustering for a more accurate review. The panel also included Kurt Michel, president of Content Analyst Company and Ian Campbell, COO of iConect Development.

"Increased enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act means that companies need to be better able to investigate possible violations and react to government investigations. Important evidence is often found in electronic documents, which may reside anywhere in the world," said Chris May. "We were pleased to help the audience understand these specific challenges and provide some tips for managing electronically stored information within the context of FCPA investigations."
