IEC Electronics Corp Announces ISO13485 Quality Certification

NEWARK, NY--(Marketwire - August 6, 2009) - IEC Electronics Corp (NYSE Amex: IEC), announced today it has achieved the prestigious ISO13485 certification. ISO13485 is the quality management system (QMS) standard specific to the medical device industry. The requirements emphasize critical areas impacting process, quality and manufacturing reliability for medical device products. It is designed to enforce complicated and strict manufacturing control principals unique to the medical device industry and includes several additional requirements to ISO 9001. This certification, an internationally recognized management system standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), is a requirement for the ongoing manufacturing of commercial medical devices.
