IEEE-ISTO Awarded 2010 Tenzing Norgay Interoperability Achievement Award

Synopsys Recognizes IEEE-ISTO's Advancement of Industry Standards

ANAHEIM, CA--(Marketwire - June 16, 2010) -  IEEE-ISTO has been awarded the tenth annual Tenzing Norgay Interoperability Achievement Award sponsored by Synopsys, Inc. Presented today during an early-morning ceremony at the Design Automation Conference (DAC) in Anaheim, CA, the Tenzing Norgay Interoperability Achievement Award is bestowed annually to an organization that succeeds in driving market acceptance, adoption and implementation of standardized technologies.

"We are recognizing IEEE-ISTO for their role in providing the infrastructure required for today's consortia and industry entities to standardize technologies and promote worldwide market acceptance and end user deployment," explained Rich Goldman, vice president of corporate marketing and strategic alliances at Synopsys.

This award is named for the crucial role that Sherpa Tenzing Norgay played in the first successful attempt to reach the summit of Mount Everest in 1953; the EDA Interoperability Achievement Award recognizes the achievements of those who are critical to a designer's success.

"We are honored to receive the Tenzing Norgay Interoperability Achievement award," said Marco Migliaro, IEEE-ISTO CEO and president. "As this award recognizes the value and importance of the unsung hero who supports the success of another, we at IEEE-ISTO find it particularly apt to our organization as we are committed and strive to see our member programs succeed for the betterment of industry."

The award is presented annually to organizations that have surpassed common levels of interoperability, have contributed to overall industry advancement and have helped provide a new view of the future for EDA interoperability.
