IIX Joins the OpenDaylight Project

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwired - January 20, 2015) - IIX Inc., the global software-defined interconnection company, today announced that it has joined the OpenDaylight Project, a community-led and industry-supported open source platform to advance Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV).

IIX is developing the software-driven, next-generation direct interconnection platform that enables simple, secure and scalable direct network connections across the globe between content providers, cloud application providers and other enterprises.

The OpenDaylight Project has brought together almost 300 developers from the networking industry to collaborate on an open, common platform for SDN and NFV. The community is working on its third software release called Lithium to be made available later this year that continues to integrate components to solve a range of use cases such as networking virtualization for enterprises and service providers, network management and monitoring, security and more.

"Tapping into the OpenDaylight platform enables IIX to deliver the promise of SDN to its enterprise customers and achieve cloud-based network access and control like we've never seen before."

"Our development team has a long history of contributing code and open source expertise to drive innovation and we are committed to supporting the OpenDaylight Project," said Paul Gampe, Chief Technology Officer of IIX.
