Ikanos to Demonstrate Its Latest Technology for Next-Generation Connected Home Devices and Smart Home Applications at CES 2015

Company Will Showcase a Range of Gateway Platforms and Applications, as Well as the Latest Advancements in Its Award-Winning inSIGHT BXM Analytics and Diagnostics Software

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 29, 2014) - Ikanos Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: IKAN), a leading provider of advanced broadband semiconductor and software products for the connected home, today announced that it will demonstrate its latest technology targeting the burgeoning broadband gateway market and smart home applications at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The demonstrations will cover an array of functionalities delivered by Ikanos' Vx500 Fusiv-based gateway processors, including the latest in home automation and smart home applications, as well as recent advancements in its award-winning inSIGHT software suite, extending its capabilities to cover multi-mode gateways and gigabit WAN/LAN QoS features. Demonstrations will be held in Ikanos' private suite at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort (formerly LVH), Jan. 6-9, 2015.

In 2014, Ikanos' family of Fusiv gateway processors was selected by several global OEMs, including Comtrend, KAONMEDIA, Mako Networks, Sumitomo Electric and Ubee, to name a few, as the gateway processor of choice to enable their next-generation of integrated VDSL and multi-mode residential gateway products. The latest technological advancements in its access and gateway products, as well as the company's state-of-the-art inSIGHT software suite, position Ikanos to continue its momentum with global carriers and OEMs as the migration to gigabit connectivity and disruptions in home automation and multi-service gateways drive the adoption of next wave of ultra-broadband products.

The Fusiv Vx500 gateway processors offer high performance multi-mode broadband access, with gigabit connectivity in FTTH applications and up to 400Mbps aggregate data rates for Cat 7 LTE wireless broadband connectivity. With up to 11GHz of offload processing for cloud access, dual-band, dual-concurrent WiFi acceleration for gigabit 802.11ac, smart LAN management and QoS, and secure content processing and distribution, Ikanos' Vx500 family offers the ideal platform for global OEMs to address multiple carrier and retail gateway applications leveraging the same underlying hardware platform and software investment. In addition, the processors accelerate the company's industry-leading diagnostics and analytics software suite, inSIGHT BXM, ensuring quick resolution of home networking issues. inSIGHT gives consumers and carrier personnel an intuitive user interface that enables quick, local or remote resolution of noise interference and wiring problems, minimizing the need for service calls or truck rolls, and resulting in lower carrier OpEx and an improved consumer quality of experience.

"Our design win momentum with leading global carriers and OEMs to power their next-generation gateway platforms has once again provided proof of our market position as a technology leader," said Omid Tahernia, president and CEO of Ikanos. "For carriers worldwide, the new bar for home gateway acceptance is high sustainable performance, always-on and secure connectivity, and accurate and reliable visibility into the health of the broadband access and home network. We believe that this combination will continue to create high demand and increasing carrier preference for our home gateway products and inSIGHT software suite."
