Ikona Gear International Announces New Chief Engineer

Company Hires Industry Veteran to Drive Commercialization and Expansion Into New Markets

COQUITLAM, BC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 22, 2005 -- Ikona Gear International, Inc. (OTC BB: IKGI), a leader in innovative gearing systems technology, today announced that it has appointed Sasa Tesic to the position of Chief Engineer.

About Sasa Tesic

Mr. Tesic is a mechanical engineering, design, and software professional with more than 15 years' experience designing, developing, and commercialization technology applications in the oil and gas, automotive, marine, mining, and medical industries.

Prior to joining Ikona, Mr. Tesic was Design Engineering Manager for Pacific Rim Engineered Products, a manufacturer of mechanical power transmissions in Surrey, British Columbia. He also held the positions of Engineering Team Leader and Senior Designer, driving the development and commercialization of parallel shafts, right angle and planetary gearboxes, hydraulic manifolds and valves, and dozens of additional products.

Tesic received a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors in Mechanical Engineering from the Military Technical University, University of Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro (Yugoslavia). He is also a published writer, with articles in "The Scientific Technical Review" and was a featured presenter at the 21st Scientific Expert Conference in Belgrade.
