Illinois Technology Association Partners With Wakefield to Bring UNCUBED Talent Fair to Chicago

UNCUBED a Hiring Fair Like No Other

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Aug 16, 2012) - The Illinois Technology Association (ITA) and Wakefield have partnered to bring UNCUBED to Chicago. Startups and companies in high-growth stages are booming in Chicago, yet hiring the right people remains a challenge. On October 4, from 1 to 7 p.m. at the River East Art Center, NYC based UNCUBED will bring their wildly successful tech talent fair to Chicago, connecting designers, programmers, marketing and business development specialists with Chicago's most exciting (and hiring) companies.

Presented by Wakefield Media, a daily delivery of behind-the-scenes startup news, UNCUBED is a hiring event unlike any other: music, drinks, and an after party replace the staid, uncomfortable hand-shake-and-blazer feel of traditional job fairs.

After logging success stories in Philadelphia and New York, with the likes of Spotify, Stack Overflow, shutterstock, tumblr, NextDocs and Monetate showcasing their offerings, UNCUBED is expanding to cities across the country. Chicago's edition of UNCUBED will also feature Chicago food vendors, the work of local artists, workshops, and other entertainment throughout, including the much-buzzed 'Paper Napkin Pitch,' where any attendee can pitch a big idea for a prize. Speaker panels, featuring some of the most well known figures in the tech and startup community, will serve as a major component in drawing experienced candidates who typically shy away from standard recruiting events.

UNCUBED is partnering with local startup and technology hubs Illinois Technology Association and 1871, along with national partner Stack Exchange, the well known online Q&A forum and community.

Fred Hoch, ITA President, commented, "We are excited to partner with Wakefield to bring UNCUBED to Chicago. This is just one example of how ITA is working to address the ongoing talent need in the local tech industry and bring the national spotlight to Chicago."

Candidates are expected from throughout Chicagoland and the surrounding region, as UNCUBED works closely with university networks and other associations in the area. The event organizers are expecting upwards of 50 companies to attend. To find out more or get involved in UNCUBED Chicago, visit the website
