Imagine Optic™ and Engineering Synthesis Design Inc. (ESDI™) Expand Relationship to Offer Customers Unrivaled Precision Wavefront Metrology Solutions

Imagine Optic and Engineering Synthesis Design Inc. (ESDI) Strengthen Their Partnership to Provide Leading Industrial, Governmental and Academic Laboratories With Affordable, High-Performance Wavefront Metrology and Adaptive Optics Solutions

BALTIMORE, MD -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 7, 2007 -- Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO) and the Quantum Electronics and Laser Science Conference (QELS) -- As part of its continuing growth strategy, Imagine Optic today announces that it has reinforced its distribution partnership with Engineering Synthesis Design Inc. (ESDI) to include future co-development of new precision wavefront metrology technologies. This agreement strengthens the relationship between Imagine Optic, Europe's leading provider of Shack-Hartmann wavefront analysis and correction technologies, and ESDI, one of America's leading manufacturers and distributors of optical metrology products. The two companies will focus on providing turnkey wavefront analysis and adaptive optics solutions to meet customer demand in domains including microscopy, semiconductors, freespace communications and high-power lasers.

By uniting Imagine Optic's technological expertise with ESDI's expert support and training, research customers will profit from the new endeavor through the application of jointly developed products to microscopy and cellular imaging. Likewise, semiconductor manufacturers will be able to take advantage of the nanometric precision offered by solutions based on Imagine Optic's HASO™ wavefront sensor line for the characterization of large surfaces, a necessity for maintaining their competitive edge in chip design and manufacturing. Finally, consumer electronics manufacturers will be able to reduce production costs by improving factory throughput using Imagine Optic's technology to enable precision characterization of miniature optics, including liquid lenses that are rapidly becoming the standard for consumer goods, including portable telephones and digital cameras.

When asked why ESDI chose Imagine Optic as their partner, Jack Schumann, the company's CEO said, "Imagine Optic's reputation for precision wavefront metrology technologies combined with their ability to consistently develop new products that anticipate market needs made it an obvious choice when developing our strategy to maintain our product line's competitive edge."

Imagine Optic will be present on the ESDI booth (1236) at CLEO-QELS in Baltimore Maryland during the exposition dates from May 8th through 10th. For more information, please visit the companies' websites -- www.engsynthesis.com and www.imagine-optic.com.
