Impelsys Partners With AGS to Launch Portal for Online Access to Publications Focused on Geriatric Care

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jun 27, 2013) - Impelsys, a global leader in providing electronic content delivery solutions, has teamed up with the American Geriatrics Society (AGS) to launch GeriatricsCareOnline.org, a new Web site offering online access to AGS publications and products.

GeriatricsCareOnline.org is the comprehensive online resource of publications and products focused on geriatric care in the U.S. The portal leverages Impelsys' award-winning digital publishing technology to deliver the robust and varied content from AGS, including books, journals and other types of media. The users will be individuals and institutional users from universities, hospitals and other professional associations. AGS members will also have access to their subscribed content on the portal.

"This new portal is a one-stop online resource to purchase AGS publications and products, license online access to comprehensive content regarding geriatric care and obtain topic-specific bundles of information tailored to meet a user's specific needs," said AGS CEO Jennie Chin Hansen. "By partnering with Impelsys, we are now able to deliver high-quality, trustworthy information on a digital platform so that all health care professionals have the latest research on caring for older adults."

Impelsys has created a branded portal for AGS using its Knowledge Platform technology. The platform hosts most of the AGS digital products and allows the consumers of these products to easily browse into, search across, subscribe to and access their content. The portal allows integration of all the products under one online roof, with a common authentication and access system.

"GeriatricsCareOnline.org is a new online resource that allows anyone to search and purchase AGS products on one easy-to-use Web site, which is a tremendous benefit for geriatric care professionals and also enables the AGS to monetize their valuable digital assets," said Sameer Shariff, founder and CEO of Impelsys. "With the AGS portal's interactive tools, subscribers can develop custom libraries by bundling and unbundling information, create presentations, and develop teaching materials and patient education handouts."

According to Shariff, the Impelsys design team also built the portal so that users can add notes and bookmarks in texts, search within and across content, email links to colleagues, create custom self-assessment tests, and personalize handouts for patients and their caregivers.

"This new portal helps AGS establish a strong online presence and a brand identity, while empowering the organization to be its own publisher for its digital content," said Shariff.
