LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - October 4, 2010) - Imperial Capital announced that Matthew Spain has joined the Firm as Managing Director in the Investment Banking Group based out of the firm's Los Angeles office. Mr. Spain has over 16 years of experience in the securities industry with expertise in mergers and acquisitions ("M&A"), specifically in the industrials sector. Prior to joining Imperial Capital, Mr. Spain worked for the Los Angeles based private equity firm, The Gores Group, responsible for sourcing and executing acquisition and divestiture transactions for existing portfolio companies. Prior to joining Gores, Mr. Spain was a Managing Director in the M&A Group of UBS Investment Bank. While at UBS, Mr. Spain was responsible for building and heading Wall Street's leading Exclusive Sales & Divestiture Group. Mr. Spain began his investment banking career at Donaldson, Lufkin, and Jenrette.
