Implant Sciences Further Expands Sales & Marketing Team; Creates Government Marketing & Sales Division

Focus on Growing Product Sales in Domestic U.S. Market

WILMINGTON, MA--(Marketwire - May 11, 2011) - Implant Sciences Corporation (OTCQB: IMSC) (PINKSHEETS: IMSC), a high technology supplier of systems and sensors for homeland security markets, today announced hiring four additional sales and marketing managers, as well as the establishment of a specialized Government Marketing and Sales team aimed at serving the needs of domestic homeland security in the U.S.

Implant Sciences projects that the global explosives trace detection market will grow to approximately $1 billion by 2014. A study by IMS research estimates that 42% of that market is in the U.S. To date, Implant Sciences has had increasing traction with international sales through its growing global distribution network.

"The expansion of our sales and marketing team over the past 12 months has directly resulted in significant sales increases, primarily from international markets," stated Implant Sciences CEO, Glenn Bolduc. "With the addition of these four talented sales and marketing individuals, we aim to further increase revenue growth through domestic U.S. sales to government and private industry."

Implant Sciences' newly formed Government Marketing and Sales team consists of Marc Gregorio, Director of Federal Business Development, and Jessica Tocco, Government Marketing Manager.

Marc Gregorio was recently Director of Government Markets for the Security & Detection Systems Division of L-3 Communications, a major defense contractor and government services provider. She was then Confidential Assistant to Carlos Gutierrez, the Secretary of the United States Department of Commerce. Kelly Wennik, a successful sales professional with more 20 years of marketing, sales and business development experience working with top-tier Fortune 100 companies, joins Implant Sciences as Managing Director of the Americas. She will be responsible for all countries in North and South America, including U.S. sales, excluding federal government. Before joining Implant Sciences, Ms. Wennik was a Vice President with MORPACE, delivering industry relevant analysis and consulting services. Prior to that, she was Director, Client Development with Harris Interactive and Business Development Manager for Leading Indicator Systems.
