Important Demonstration of First Nations Leaders in front of the Canadian Parliament

WENDAKE, QC, Sept. 17 - Lise Bastien, Director of the First
Nations Education Council, and the Chief of the Assembly of First Nations of
Quebec and Labrador, Ghislain Picard, invite media representatives to an
important public demonstration in front of the Canadian Parliament. A number
of First Nations representatives will be asking the Canadian government to put
an end to the underfunding of education in First Nations communities.
Please note that there will be a 3km run held before this activity
through the streets of Ottawa. It will be possible to take photographs at the
start of the run, which will be held in front of the offices of the Assembly
of First Nations.
A question period has been reserved for journalists after the speeches
have been made.

interests in education. The Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador
is the regional organization that represents the Chiefs of the First Nations
of Quebec and Labrador.
