In Veritas Key Scientist Forms External Reference Body

INVERNESS, SCOTLAND -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 2, 2005 -- IVMD Inc. (OTC BB: IVME), a novel medical device company, today announced that Professor James Walker, co-inventor of its labour prediction device (POLO), has formed an external reference group of representatives from various government bodies to discuss aspects of safety in maternity care and set plans on how to improve it.

Professor James Walker is a specialist in obstetrics. In addition to his role at IVMD he is a Professor in University Department Obstetrics and Gynaecology at St James Hospital, Leeds, and is an Honorary Consultant at St James University Hospital Trust.

Professor Walker was appointed in 2004 to the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) in London as the National Clinical Speciality Adviser in Obstetrics. His remit is to help in the assessment of all information collected about patient safety in maternity care. More recently, he was appointed the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists adviser on Caesarean Section. This has allowed Professor Walker to use his wealth of knowledge and experience to try and improve the health and safety of all women and their babies in the UK.

Professor Walker stated: "I am proud that my knowledge and experience has been recognised in this way and it is a privilege to be involved so intimately with significant developments that will help the mother and her baby. I have always felt that technology can be a major contributor to this and a close working relationship between the clinician and industry can only be beneficial. The development of POLO is a good example of this."

John Fuller, President and CEO of IVMD, said: "Professor Walker was driven by improving patient safety when he and Nigel Simpson invented the POLO technology -- a product on which we are working towards final clinical trials. We are very privileged to have such an influential and eminent physician as part of our core team.''

About the NPSA

The NPSA is a Special Health Authority created in July 2001 to co-ordinate the efforts of the entire UK national health and hospital system to report, and more importantly to learn from mistakes and problems that affect patient safety.
