Boston Data Festival to Showcase City's Leading Data-Centric Scene, Promote Data Science and Foster Collaboration

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - Oct 28, 2013) - Leading data executives, scientists and technologists will call Boston home during the first-ever Boston Data Festival on November 4-10. Organized by multiple data-centric meetup groups and volunteers, the Boston Data Festival will showcase the companies, both established and start-up, technologists and entrepreneurs driving the data revolution.

Events kick off on Monday, November 4 with a keynote by Dr. William Kahn of AIG, followed by an all-star data panel drawn from the world of venture capital, academia, and industry. Over the course of the week a wide variety of data-centric topics will be covered including data analytics, machine learning, big data, data visualization and predictive analytics. Specific session talks include mining highly imbalanced data, deep learning (the future of machine learning), and predicting stock prices with maximum accuracy. A hackathon, data-centric start-up showcase and coding workshop for local high-school students will also be featured as part of the seven-day event.
