Inaugural Websense TRITON Advisory Board Leadership Meeting Focuses on Content Security Solutions That Address Modern Threats

TRITON Advisory Board, Part of Websense Customer First Initiative, Brings Together 100s of the Brightest Minds in Security

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - September 8, 2010) -  Many companies talk about putting the customer first, but not many provide a forum for their best customers to network and become ambassadors to the industry. Websense, Inc. (NASDAQ: WBSN), a global leader in unified Web, data and email security solutions, has done just that by forming the Websense TRITON Advisory Board and hosting its inaugural leadership meeting in San Diego today.

At the first event, Websense will provide a unique peer-networking opportunity for Advisory Board members to share their beliefs on how the security landscape, threats, and technology will evolve into 2012. Participants will share their own perspectives and investment priorities for the next few years, with topics that cover: migration of applications and data to the Web, rise in mobile computing, use of the social Web to support business, change in nature of threats, increase in need and adoption of content security, and the transformation of security into a business enablement tool.

As adopters of Websense real-time security solutions, Advisory Board members have hands-on knowledge of why these solutions are necessary and how to deploy and manage them successfully. The Advisory Board also shares practical knowledge, best practices and provides feedback to Websense as a means for the company to continually improve on the industry-leading Websense TRITON architecture and products, the first and only solutions to unify Web, email, and data security under a single management console, with a unified classification engine and flexible deployment options (software, appliances, and cloud).

Devin Redmond, Websense vice president, product management, will co-host the inaugural meeting with Jason Clark, who recently joined Websense as its chief security officer. Clark previously served as CISO at Emerson Electric, a global Fortune 100 company. Also in attendance will be Jon Crotty, an experienced senior security market researcher and analyst formerly of IDC, currently the program manager of the TRITON Advisory Board for Websense.

"We have enhanced our Customer First Initiative with the Websense TRITON Advisory Board, and are continuing to demonstrate our commitment and investment to further developing 'real- world' customer success with unified content security," said Devin Redmond, Websense vice president, product management. "By adding customer and market experts like Jason and Jon, we are adding real expertise for, and extending the opportunity to collaborate with, our customers. Websense has clear leadership that is recognized by our customers and the market; the Websense TRITON Advisory Board is another method to ensure the Websense TRITON architecture and solutions remain the sole leader in unified content security."

"I believe market and solution success depends on close alignment and communication with end users," said Crotty. "With more than 400 members already, I am pleased with the customer response to the TRITON Advisory Board. It provides that exclusive communication opportunity, while being a forum for sharing best practices and elite peer-networking for achieving the best security possible for modern threats."

The Websense Customer First Initiative is a multifaceted program that puts customers at the center of Websense development, resulting in industry-leading award-winning solutions. This globally recognized initiative also includes award-winning Global Technical Support, the Websense Technical Readiness and Training program, the Websense Technical Library, the Websense Support Forum, and -- the company's customer portal.
