Inbound Marketing Summit in San Francisco Breaks New Ground on Conference Pricing -- Experiment to Focus on 'Customer Perceived Value Pricing Model'

BOSTON, MA and SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 20, 2011) - Inbound Marketing Summit 2011 in San Francisco today announced a ground-breaking community experiment on conference pricing by creating "Customer Perceived Value Pricing." The experiment was announced by Sarah Hindmarsh, Conference Marketing Director with an outreach campaign to the marketing managers being invited to the Inbound Marketing Summit. The San Francisco program takes place June 7 and 8 at the Fort Mason Conference Center, near the Golden Gate Bridge.

"In San Francisco, we are looking to test the same incredibly popular and successful model the Met in New York, Boston's PediCabs, several Panera Bread locations, and many online services including podcasts and gaming sites are now using. Under this model you present the buyer with the options, state your value proposition, and then let the users set their price point based on the value to them of the conference content, the professional networking and the business development opportunities they expect to develop," said Hindmarsh. The program allows a conference attendee to register for the full conference (two days including two breakfast and lunch programs, formalized networking time, conference sessions and an opportunity to visit with three dozen solution providers) and specify the value they place in the program.

According to Stephen Saber, CEO of CrossTech Media, creator of the Inbound Marketing Summit in San Francisco, "Customer Perceived Value Pricing is a creative way to place the customer in the correct role -- the driver of the conversation and value proposition. We already know there is great value to the education and networking taking place, now we let the customers state just how valuable this learning and these networking programs are."

The Inbound Marketing Summit, established in 2007 to recognize the growing importance of emarketing services and related metrics, also organizes a conference in September in Boston. Speakers at the Inbound Marketing Summits have included Chris Brogan, David Meerman Scott, Tim Washer, Brian Halligan, Steve Garfield, CC Chapman, Chris Penn, Paul Gillin and Larry Weber.
