INC Research to Discuss How Six Sigma Principles Can Drive Efficiencies for Clinical Data Management in R&D Directions Webinar

Registration Is Now Open for Free Webinar on March 31, 2011

RALEIGH, NC--(Marketwire - March 22, 2011) - INC Research, LLC, a therapeutically focused contract research organization (CRO) with a trusted process for delivering reliable results, is pleased to announce that it is sponsoring the upcoming R&D Directions webinar on "Driving Efficiencies in Clinical Data Processes" on March 31 at 1:00 p.m. ET. Carmen Weese, VP, Global Data Services at INC Research, will present a case study on how Six Sigma principles helped drive cost savings into the data management process and ultimately improved overall timelines and budget for clinical development.

Complex factors and pricing pressures are making pharmaceutical and biotech companies look at their drug development processes to identify ways to drive efficiencies that will reduce costs, eliminate rework and better support getting drugs to market. Clinical data management -- particularly at the study start-up and database lock points -- is often pointed to as a stopgap in the clinical development process due to lack of efficiencies that drag out timelines and increase costs.

Through the case study example with a pharmaceutical company, participants will understand how to apply Six Sigma principles that not only create data management efficiencies, but also reduce QA cycles, standardize case report form (CRF) design and edit check processes.

Weese brings 15 years of diverse data management, project management and process analysis career experience to her role at INC Research and co-chairs the Six Sigma initiative internally within the CRO. She is actively leading a Six Sigma project and serves as the Black Belt for more than 10 additional projects within the company. She has been certified as a Six Sigma Green Belt by North Carolina State University (NC) and is in the process of certification as a Six Sigma Black Belt by North Carolina State University (NC).

This 60-minute webinar presentation will be held on March 31, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. ET / 10:00 a.m. PT and will be moderated by R&D Directions' editor-in-chief Chris Truelove. Free registration is now available by clicking here. For more information about this upcoming webinar and how to participate, visit
