Inca IPTV to Analog and IPTV to QAM Edge Devices add Emergency Alert System (EAS) Enhancements

VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwired - May 18, 2017) - Inca Networks, the Intelligent Video Delivery company, today announced the immediate availability of new enhancements to extend Emergency Alert System (EAS) support in the company's IP to Analog and IP to QAM Tangram modules. Cable TV and IPTV operators will benefit from this EAS support which includes integration with Trilithic EAS and other manufacturers supporting the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP).

Severe weather warnings, special announcements and government communication, are some of the Emergency Alerts that operators may be required to broadcast on a given day. With these new enhancements from Inca, operators can now easily monitor and send out EAS signals to specific chosen video streams on both their analog and digital RF video networks.

Each Inca GT21 analog edge decoder, part of the modular WISI Tangram platform, can ingest multiple HD or SD IP streams in either MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 format and convert them to NTSC modulated RF analog outputs for delivery to legacy analog TV networks. This allows operators to support legacy analog tiers of service while simplifying head end equipment and power consumption and integrating with modern IP video headend architectures.

Each Inca GT23 QAM modulator, can receive multiple IP single program transport stream (SPTS) or multiple program transport stream (MPTS) and distribute them on digital QAM carriers for use by modern digital televisions. The GT23 EdgeQAM can co-exist in the same chassis as the GT21 analog edge card, allowing operators to support both legacy and modern video networks from a single 1RU Tangram chassis.

Inca Networks' EAS software is available now. For more information, and to arrange an online demonstration of the product, please visit: www.incanetworks.com
