Increasing demand for Le Grimoire microbrewery beer in Granby

The Government of Canada grants financial assistance to the enterprise to support expansion

GRANBY, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 10, 2016) - Canada's craft beer industry has seen a renaissance in recent years. Quebec brewers now have an opportunity to grow and thus maintain and create jobs in the brewing community. The government of Canada is determined to support local brewers so that they can meet increased demand for their products.

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, Pierre Breton, Member of Parliament for Shefford, announced that Le Grimoire microbrewery has been granted $235,000 in financial assistance, in the form of a repayable contribution, to increase its production capacity and ensure its growth.

Created in 2004, Le Grimoire microbrewery is now a booming enterprise and a gathering place for Granby residents and visitors. Its various beers are enjoyed across Quebec and in Europe. The funding granted under CED's Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP) will enable the enterprise to increase its production capacity by acquiring equipment for a second production line, namely a steam boiler system for the brewing process. The funding covers part of the fit-up costs for the brewing room and the automated bottling line.
