INCspire Announces New Mentoring and Educational Initiative

RESTON, VA--(Marketwired - Jun 19, 2015) - The INCspire Education Foundation, a 501(c )3 subsidiary of the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce, is reengineering its mentoring and education services to provide maximum value to entrepreneurs in Northern Virginia. INCspire will now focus on providing successful mentoring partnerships that will work to guarantee success to all mentees.

INCspire will continue to serve as a catalyst of business growth to Northern Virginia by focusing on three key areas:

  • Entrepreneur Mentoring
  • Educational services and seminars
  • Formal training programs

"Since 2002, INCspire has assisted 50+ entrepreneurs who have gone on to create over 500 jobs in Virginia. Our decision to focus on the mentorship component of INCspire will allow us to continue to be a catalyst for business growth by giving mentees the foundation to become job creators." Mark S. Ingrao, CCP, CAE -- President and CEO, Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce

For a long time, providing business space to INCspire participants was a main goal, however, with the growth of online and home based businesses, there's no longer a need for space but more of a need for mentorship. The mentoring component of the program will pair startup business owners with more accomplished entrepreneurs.

"INCspire's new mentoring program is a passion for me, because I know firsthand how crucial it is for entrepreneurs to find great mentors. When I founded my first business, I was lucky enough to find mentors who coached me through product development, raising capital, finding early stage customers and partners, and ultimately being acquired. We want to make it easier for other entrepreneurs to find the same thing to help their companies grow." Will Marlow, Entrepreneur-in-Residence and Interim Executive Director

INCspire is inviting Northern Virginia business men and women to become mentors or mentees. Some of the mentor skills needed include:

  • Business development
  • Venture Capital
  • Product development
  • Business liquidity
