Indeck Energy: Energy Independence Starts at Home

LADYSMITH, WI--(Marketwire - Dec 6, 2011) - Indeck Ladysmith, LLC, the manufacturer of Indeck Energy Premium Wood Pellets, is taking December to remind consumers that energy independence, green living and economic stimulus starts at home -- through the utilization of locally grown and sustainably harvested biomass fuel for home heating.

The US Environmental Protection Agency's Burn Wise program is encouraging wood-burning stove owners to upgrade their heating appliances to higher efficiency options, including those that burn wood pellets. By choosing a stove that uses Indeck Energy Premium Wood Pellets as fuel, homeowners can begin to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels and bolster their local economy.

"Indeck Energy Premium Wood Pellets are manufactured from locally grown feedstock, harvested by friends and neighbors who work in the forestry industry and often sold by small business owners in our community," said Mike Curci, Retail Sales Consultant and Business Development Manager, Indeck Energy. "Not only is home heating with Indeck Energy Premium Wood Pellets better for the environment, it supports our region's economy."

A properly installed wood pellet burning stove can have an efficiency of up to 80 percent, according the Pellet Fuels Institute. With residual wood smoke reburned in the stove, particulate matter is not being released into the atmosphere, increasing the environmental friendliness of heating with wood pellets.

"With all of the benefits of wood pellet heating, the federal government is offering a tax incentive for a stove's purchase," said Curci.

A tax credit of $300 is available for a qualifying stove purchase through the 2011 Federal Consumer Energy Efficiency Tax Credit. The credit is available through the end of 2011.

"Our goal is to keep jobs, hard earned income and energy production in our region," said Curci. "Burning Indeck Energy Premium Wood Pellets is a great way start."
