Indicative Software Announces Indicative 7.0 for Proactive IT Service Management

Proactive Application Management Creates Value Within Just Days, Thanks to a Cohesive Architecture and Pre-Cast Templates

FORT COLLINS, CO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 22, 2005 -- Indicative Software today announced availability of Indicative 7.0, the latest version of its market-proven IT service management software. Indicative 7.0 lets IT managers proactively monitor end-user experience and application performance within the context of the underlying infrastructure health. Should performance begin to degrade, IT managers can drill seamlessly into the service value chain to rapidly pinpoint the culprit before it affects users and the business.

Indicative 7.0 can be implemented rapidly and easily extended, providing the fastest time to value of any sophisticated management software suite. This is made possible by a patented, cohesive architecture that includes an ever-growing library of infrastructure and application management templates, which enable IT managers to model and manage their business computing environment.

Indicative 7.0 includes over a dozen new capabilities to:

-- Proactively monitor end-user experience in the context of infrastructure health and capture all application component response times down to the component level. IT managers can view the actual path of a business transaction through the components (for example, servlets, enterprise Java beans, methods and SQL statements) of J2EE application environments to speed troubleshooting.

-- Auto-discover JBoss application components, saving IT the weeks of painstaking implementation work required by other tools. The JBoss solution monitors response times and critical resource utilization in similar fashion to Indicative's existing WebLogic and WebSphere management capabilities.

-- Enable auto-discovery and agent-less monitoring of the Citrix Metaframe environment and IBM AIX systems, furthering heterogeneous technology monitoring from a single console.

-- Specify "named users" for whom IT needs to collect real user session and performance data in Web application environments. This allows IT to commit to service levels not only by geography, service or application, but also by individual or role.

-- Capture user sessions within a Web environment and track aggregate performance across all sessions and alert on Web transaction errors as they occur within individual sessions. Targeted search criteria and session capture and playback functions make it easy to identify and troubleshoot specific user sessions.

-- Monitor application usage of network capacity using Cisco's Network Based Application Recognition (NBAR) technology. The powerful NBAR feature collects network usage metrics and provides total use by protocol and a ranking of top application users of network capacity.

"Indicative's value proposition is compelling with their tightly integrated and lower-cost IT service management products," commented Lisa Erickson-Harris, research director of Enterprise Management Associates. "Based on our recent analysis, it is clear that the IT marketplace is primed for this type of solution. Their products are well positioned for long-term growth and we believe just ahead of the demand curve, as evidenced by our recent service management research."

With this latest release, Indicative becomes more valuable to different stakeholders of mission critical business applications by providing new real-time performance views for service desk professionals and corporate managers including:

-- A small footprint Notifier in a unique "tool bar" banner configured to display only those performance alerts of interest while minimizing screen real estate. Drill down performance information is just a click away.

-- Dashboard management capabilities for not only displaying "at-a-glance" service performance views but also service topology such as end-user performance, network service and infrastructure health by geography with similar drill down capability.

"Our customers realize end-to-end service management value in a very short time," said Lacy H. Edwards, CEO for Indicative. "In fact, most customers are fully implemented within a two-week proof-of-concept. No other company can deliver this degree of proactive, end-user experience testing and comprehensive troubleshooting as rapidly as Indicative."

Pricing and Availability

Indicative 7.0 is currently available. For organizations focused on end-user experience monitoring and J2EE platform and application performance troubleshooting, bundled pricing starts at $100,000.
