Indigo Books and Music Inc. and Mount Sinai open first Indigospirit

Attention: Assignment Editor, Books Editor, Business/Financial Editor, Health/Medical Editor, Lifestyle Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - July 18, 2005) - Indigo Books & Music Inc., in partnership with Mount Sinai Hospital, has launched the first-ever "Indigospirit." The new Hospital gift shop is the first of its kind in Canada and celebrated its grand opening on June 17.

Indigospirit is unique in that it combines traditional Indigo products with specific products that cater to the Hospital's environment.

Indigo Books and Music Inc. President and CEO, Heather Reisman, is proud to continue the 30-year tradition of the Mount Sinai Hospital Auxiliary's gift shop, generating proceeds for the Hospital. "Indigospirit is building on the foundation of the Mount Sinai Hospital Auxiliary and we are proud to be part of the Mount Sinai Hospital family." Reisman has been involved with the Hospital for many years, serving on the Board of Governors, as well as making generous donations.

"We welcome Indigospirit to our Mount Sinai Hospital family -- our exciting new gift shop," said Joseph Mapa, President and CEO of Mount Sinai Hospital. "With patient, family, and visitor comfort in mind, Indigospirit features gifts, greeting cards, flowers, books, magazines, and much more. We hope the Hospital community and the public will enjoy all that it offers."

Indigo and Mount Sinai Hospital have also worked together to develop a Trusted Advisor Health Section. President Mapa, Surgeon-in-Chief Dr. Zane Cohen, and Chief of Medicine Dr. Allan Detsky have helped guide the development of this Indigo program, which enables people to locate health-related books that have received a Seal of Approval by leading Canadian physicians and health care professionals.

Mount Sinai and Indigo Books and Music Inc. both strive to offer patients, visitors, and staff the best of its class and Indigospirit is no exception. Indigospirit also offers gift baskets, fresh flowers, games and electronic devices, toiletries, CDs, a wide variety of greeting cards and, of course, books and magazines.

Store hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 12 noon to 8 p.m.
