Individuals Can "Play Bingo in Halifax"

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Sept. 21, 2010) - The development of a new bingo hall in the Halifax area has been welcomed by local bingo players. It's even got non-players excited as they will now also have a chance to play this popular British pastime.

The proposed new bingo hall in Halifax will form part of a development taking place in the town that will cost some £50 million to complete, the Halifax Courier reports. The entire project, as well as the new bingo hall, will also have a bowling alley, a multi-screen cinema, a hotel, cafes and restaurants.

Plans for the new hall are finally materialising after 16 years of discussions and setbacks. David Brimblecombe, manager of the company responsible for the halls development, the Miller Gregory Group, said "when it opens next year, the development will deliver a destination leisure location for Halifax."

While it's still unclear which operator will be behind the new club, given the current economic climate, it's most likely that Mecca Bingo will undertake the new building. While some would expect UK bingo site operators Top Ten Bingo and Gala to take on the project, ongoing financial issues indicate that they won't be the operators. Even though another popular bingo operator, Seldis Cooper is expanding, they have shown no interest in the new Halifax-based bingo club.

For individuals who do not want to leave the house though, Online Bingo Friends recently announced that Web-based versions are still offering good prizes. Online bingo allows players to enjoy the game from the comfort of their homes and to create a game that suits their playing needs. With many online bingo sites offering chat rooms, online gamers are still able to enjoy the bingo community that one would expect from a traditional bingo hall.
