SUGAR LAND, TX--(Marketwire - February 11, 2011) - Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) is pleased to announce the release of its Great Lakes Wall Map Series, illustrating the potential capital and maintenance spending in 2011 for the Great Lakes region. This year, over 900 projects are planned to kick off in the region, representing a combined total investment value (TIV) of more than $56.8 billion.

The map series covers the states of Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin and Kentucky. Each of the six maps will cover a single state, detailing active capital and maintenance projects across 12 vertical industries, including Power Generation, Oil & Gas Terminals, Oil & Gas Transmission, Oil & Gas Production, Alternative Fuels, Petroleum Refining, Chemical Processing, Metals & Minerals, Pulp & Paper, Food & Beverage, Industrial Manufacturing, and Pharmaceutical & Biotech.

Overall, projects in the Power and Alternative Fuels industries represent more than $43 billion of these projects. Other high-dollar industries in the region include the Metals & Minerals Industry, with 118 projects totaling $4.7 billion, and the Industrial Manufacturing Industry, with more than $3.5 billion in planned projects.

In terms of value, Michigan, which was severely affected by the economic downturn's effect on the automobile sector, has 40% of these planned Industrial Manufacturing projects, including the largest-value manufacturing project: the retooling of Chrysler's assembly stamping plant in Sterling Heights.

Illinois, where several large windfarm projects are planned to begin construction this year, ranks third in the nation in terms of the value of its renewable energy project starts in 2011.

Several Alternative Fuels Industry projects, primarily involving coal gasification and coal liquefaction, are also set to break ground in the region this year.

Details of these and billions of dollars of projects in the Great Lakes region can be viewed on a visual basis on maps of individual states, along with listings by industry, providing detailed information and primary contact information for each project.

The laminated, high-resolution inkjet maps are ideal for marketing, planning and conference-room display.
