Industry Leaders Join GT Nexus Expert Panel on Supply Chain Collaboration in the Cloud

Prof. Martin Christopher Plus Executives From Otto International and Hewlett Packard to Participate in Industry Education Webinar

HAMBURG, GERMANY--(Marketwire - November 17, 2010) - GT Nexus today announced that it is hosting a panel of experts at its upcoming educational webinar, titled The Collaborative Supply Chain in the Cloud. The online event is scheduled for December 2, 2010 at 10am EST, or 16:00h CET, and is free to attend.

The webinar will take the form of an interactive panel of industry experts discussing recent trends in cloud computing and the impact of these trends on global supply chain management. Expert panelists include:

  • Professor Martin Christopher, Emeritus Professor of Marketing & Logistics, Cranfield School of Management.
  • Christian Verstraete, Chief Technology Officer, Worldwide Manufacturing and Distribution Industries, Hewlett-Packard.
  • Henning Husmann, Director, Business Development, Hermes-OTTO International.
  • Andy Stinnes, Managing Director, GT Nexus Europe.

"We are focusing on a topic that the market urgently needs to hear about," said Andy Stinnes, Managing Director at GT Nexus Europe. "Cloud technology is more than just a major inflection point for supply chain technology. It enables information sharing models that are not possible with traditional software. We'll be talking about this enormous opportunity from the perspective of different practitioners so the audience gets a well-rounded, objective story."

IT deployments that go beyond the traditional enterprise boundaries are a top priority for many leading companies today. The panel will be discussing how Cloud not only plays a vital economic role in making future IT initiatives more affordable and less risky, but can enable powerful new collaboration models across trading communities, or business networks. Companies in all sectors are now transforming their operations by leveraging proven cloud technology and cloud collaboration platforms to get their entire communities on the same page, working from a "single version of the truth" -- a constantly updated snapshot of complex supply chain data, provided simultaneously to global colleagues, suppliers, logistics service providers and customers in both an economical and scalable manner.

The event will be presented live via the internet. The panel will also take part in a live question and answer session with the audience. To register or read more about the event, visit
