Industry Tackles Global Credit Crunch and Buy America CME Global Business Summit May 25 - 26

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 22, 2009) - The global credit crunch, Buy America and expanding into new global markets are just a few of the issues that will be discussed at CME's Global Business Summit at the International Centre in Mississauga on May 25 - 26.

The Hon. Stockwell Day, minister of international trade and minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway will discuss how the government of Canada is opening doors for Canadian businesses by helping them access and succeed in global markets on Monday, May 25 beginning at 6:30 pm.

On Tuesday, May 26, CME President Jayson Myers will lead a Buy America and US market access panel discussion, together with Marc Whittingham, president of Canadian Commercial Corporation and representatives from IPEX Inc., Wabi Iron & Steel Corporation and Hayward Gordon beginning at 8:10 am. The luncheon will feature Juergen Schachler, president and CEO of ArcelorMittal Dofasco who will discuss what it takes to be successful in Canada as part of a global organization and how export markets, including the US need to ensure market access for Canadian manufacturers.

The summit will also feature a special presentation by EDC's President and CEO Eric Siegel, who will discuss EDC's new role moving forward at EDC's Annual Public Meeting on Tuesday, May 26 beginning at 2:00 pm.
