Ineedmd, Inc. Unveils Revolutionary ECG (EKG) Recording Device
NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - September 21, 2010) - A global medical device company, headquartered in New York, announced the launch of the ECG (EKG) Glove, loaded with Ineedmd's proprietary software that generates and transmits a complete diagnostic 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) via cell phone or computer directly to a doctor's office, hospital or call center. Not only can it save countless lives and limit the extent of heart injury, it will also impact the effort to reduce the rapidly-rising costs of treating heart disease. The groundbreaking technology platform was developed by a group of distinguished physicians and an award-winning aerospace electronics engineer.
The ECG (EKG) Glove is portable, cost-effective, and disposable. The digital early-detection device, trademarked as The Physician's Hand® can quickly identify a cardiac event, expedite transfer to a medical facility, and avert unscheduled and unnecessary ER visits. The product is easy-to-use and provides instant access to critical information, typically available only at the doctor's office or the hospital.
One of the main benefits of the patented glove is the easy application process. Without the help of a technician, a patient would simply insert their hand into the glove, place it on their chest, then remove their hand, letting adhesive keep the glove in place. This can be done anywhere in the world, without requiring a patient to leave home. In case of a cardiac event, the system will immediately notify Emergency Medical Services (EMS) through the call center. All the results will be accurately documented and stored in Electronic Medical Records (EMR). What's important is that the FDA-cleared and fully-developed product will put patients in charge of their treatment.
"The launch of the ECG (EKG) Glove is a major milestone in the management of heart conditions and a major step forward for the wireless telecommunications technology," said Dr. Govindan Gopinathan, co-founder of Ineedmd. Inc., who is also a primary inventor of the ECG (EKG) Glove and a Clinical Professor of Neurology at New York University Medical Center. "While, on average, it takes about 3 hours for a cardiac arrest victim to obtain medical attention, the product can potentially reduce the 'window of exposure' to a heart attack to one-third. On top of that, it will provide a peace of mind that comes from knowing that expert care is just a phone call away. Let's face it: when it comes to surviving a heart attack, timely intervention can be the difference between life and death."
With multiple clinical trials behind them, the company executives are ready to introduce the life-saving solution to the growing market of cardiac patients.
"The ECG (EKG) Glove is a powerful combination of medicine and technology and an innovative device for Tele-Medicine," adds Dr. Govindan Gopinathan.
