InEight HD 16 Dramatically Simplifies the Estimating Process with Enhanced Billing Rate Functionality

SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwired - November 16, 2016) -

With significant customer-requested enhancements that allow for the quick and easy creation of more accurate estimates, InEight has announced the release of HD 16, the newest version of its cost estimating and control solution. InEight is a leading software solutions provider for project-driven companies.

With HD 16, estimators can leverage the enhanced functionality of the software's billing rates to easily see the total amount of their estimate on a time and material rate basis. The new feature enables cost items to be marked up individually. Dependent cost items can also use billing rate amounts to their calculation of estimate items such as insurance coverages or a contractor's fee.

The billing rate enhancements in HD 16 provide contractors with better visibility into the value of potential change order work, such as work that may be performed on a force account basis. Additionally, the use of billing rates can help contractors more clearly communicate the value of an estimate with their clients while providing clear visibility into the actual fee or margin being realized by the contractor. This improvement is especially useful for projects that use contractually agreed upon rates to calculate the value of the work being performed.

"HD 16 dramatically simplifies the process of creating estimates for cost-plus projects where the billing rates for your resources are agreed upon up front," said Brad Barth, chief product officer for InEight. "Now contractors can easily understand their true margin by evaluating estimates using internal cost rates versus outside billing rates."

Other highlighted features in HD 16 include:

  • The new subtotal calculator enables users to provide a quantity to select cost items in order to see cost and man-hour per unit rates
  • Better visibility into the specific changes that make a cost item or resource employment different from the library data
  • A job-level quantity, unit of measure, and cost per unit
  • The ability to more easily identify alternate scenarios with descriptions
  • Customizable cover sheet field labels
  • Better management of custom filters
  • Additional job tracking tags and user defined fields
  • Adjustable column caption heights
