Infineon Technologies Showcases Portfolio of End-to-End Solutions for Broadband and Voice Over IP at SUPERCOMM 2005

CHICAGO, IL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 7, 2005 -- Infineon Technologies (NYSE: IFX) (FSE: IFX) , a leading global manufacturer of semiconductor components, will showcase its comprehensive portfolio of semiconductor-based, end-to-end solutions for broadband and Voice over IP (VoIP) networking applications at its booth (#55010) at the SUPERCOMM tradeshow, starting here today. SUPERCOMM is the world's largest annual exhibition and conference for broadband and enterprise networks, converged wireless and public network infrastructure, and is being held at the McCormick Place Convention Center until June 9, 2005.

Infineon offers the industry's most complete portfolio for wireline access, enabling system providers to build flexible, highly integrated central office and customer premises equipment. In particular, Infineon will showcase VINAX™, the industry's first chipset that is fully compliant to VDSL2/ G.993.2 (Very-High-Bit-Rate Digital Subscriber Line 2), a standard ratified by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) on May 27, 2005. VDSL2 is a key enabling technology for sought-after triple play services such as multi-channel HDTV, online on-demand gaming and video applications, VoIP and high-speed Internet access.According to the DSL Forum, by the end of 2004, the worldwide number of xDSL subscribers topped 100 million, some 64 percent of all broadband users worldwide. With the migration towards combined ADSL2+/VDSL2 networks, a single network can provide the entire DSL services portfolio, and reduce deployment, operating and maintenance costs. Telecom carriers will benefit from offering bundled services that can successfully compete with anything cable operators have to offer.

Planned Infineon exhibits include triple play live demonstrations showing end-to-end delivery of video, voice and data based on Infineon's Central Office (CO) and Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) chipsets for Broadband and Voice Access:

-- VDSL2 48-channel CO and CPE reference systems based on the new VINAX
VDSL2 chipsets. VINAX leverages the full VDSL2 frequency spectrum of up to
30 MHz, driving symmetric 100Mbit/s over copper wires at distances greater
than 350 meters (1150 feet), which is twice the loop reach performance of
existing VDSL solutions. VINAX's flexible VDSL2/ ADSL2+ architecture allows
system manufacturers to cover worldwide market requirements for broadband
access with a single hardware platform, enabling global mass deployment of
    triple play services.
-- Live demonstration of GEMINAX PRO-ULP, Infineon's leading-edge chipset
for ultra low power ADSL2+ CO equipment. The GEMINAX PRO-ULP is the world's
smallest and most economical chipset for ADSL2+, enabling
telecommunications companies to boost the number of super-high-speed DSL
connections that they offer to their customers by approximately one third,
without additional investments for cooling or power supplies and without
changing cabinet sizes. Combined with Infineon's ConverGate chipsets
    supporting G.992.1, G.992.3, G.992.5 and ATM/Ethernet interworking, it
addresses not only ATM but also cost efficient IP-based telecommunications
infrastructure. On the CPE side, the solution has an ADSL2+ Integrated
Access Device including Wireless LAN based on Infineon's AMAZON ADSL2+ CPE,
VINETIC voice, WLAN, Ethernet Switch and USB chipsets that support G992.1,
    G.992.3 and G.992.5 protocols.
-- An ADSL2+ ATM bonding live demonstration, based on Infineon's GEMINAX
PRO CO chipset and the single-chip AMAZON CPE solution, which shows how
bonding makes it possible to increase high data rate loop reach by using
both copper pairs of a telephone line.
Infineon also offers leading-edge communication ICs for VoIP, building upon more than 15 years of experience in telephony and leveraging its number 1 market position. At SUPERCOMM, Infineon will exhibit:
-- An Enterprise IP phone turnkey solution that features Infineon's INCA-
IP single-chip VoIP solution connected to a PBX and which visitors can use
to dial from the IP phone to the ADSL2+ IAD; and
-- VoIP router reference systems based on Infineon's ADM5120 processor,
VINETIC and DuSLIC voice chipsets, using which visitors can make calls over
    the Internet.
