Infinity Publishing Signs Agreement to Make Its eBooks Available for Download on KOBO(TM)

Global Distribution Partnership Creates New Sales Channel for Infinity Authors

WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PN--(Marketwire - September 14, 2010) - Infinity Publishing, a pioneer in self-publishing, today announced that it has completed an agreement with Kobo, a global eReading service, which will allow consumers to purchase and download Infinity eBooks from Kobo's innovative eReading service.

Kobo has developed a strong global following for its eReading service, and is focused on delivering the best customer experience through free eReading apps available on a wide range of devices, and on the Kobo eReader. Kobo supports open standards like EPUB and PDF, and is committed to supporting emerging standards.

Kobo is supported by several of the world's top book retailers, including Borders in the U.S., Indigo Books & Music in Canada, Angus & Robertson in Australia and Whitcoulls in New Zealand.

"This agreement opens up an important global distribution channel for Infinity authors, significantly increasing the exposure of Infinity eBooks to new audiences worldwide," said Arthur Gutch, chief executive officer of Infinity Publishing. "As a device-neutral platform, eBooks purchased through Kobo's eReading service can be read on various eReaders, which is a level of flexibility that benefits our authors as they seek to grow their audiences of readers. This is the kind of open-standard environment in which we will continue to market and distribute Infinity's print, audio and eBooks."

"We're extremely pleased to add Infinity titles to our growing catalog of more than 2.2 million eBooks," said Michael Serbinis, CEO of Kobo. "Our relationships with publishers are vital especially those that support open standards and are committed to providing booklovers around the world with the opportunity to enjoy eReading anytime, anyplace."

Infinity's eBook offering for self-published authors incorporates the same simple business principles the company has used successfully in digitally publishing books for more than a decade. For a one-time setup fee of $199, Infinity converts an author's existing published work into an eBook, assigns an ISBN to the title, and handles all aspects of distribution. The author's eBook is available for sale indefinitely, with no maintenance fees or other costs required, including future proofs for new electronic reading devices.
