Infoblox Joins Microsoft Network Access Protection Program

Appliance Solution and ID Aware™ DHCP Toolkit Deliver Essential DNS and DHCP Services Aiding Microsoft Windows Users in Achieving Network Access Protection

SUNNYVALE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 20, 2006 -- Infoblox Inc., a developer of essential infrastructure for identity-driven networks (IDNs), today announced it has joined the partner ecosystem around Microsoft Network Access Protection technology. Already a Microsoft Certified Partner with an Advanced Infrastructure Solutions Competency (see related press release: "Infoblox Earns Microsoft Certified Partner Status," April 12, 2005), Infoblox's support for Microsoft Network Access Protection technology represents the company's commitment to extend its offerings for Microsoft environments.

Infoblox purpose-built appliance solutions deliver nonstop domain name resolution (DNS) and dynamic IP address assignment (DHCP) services and work with an organization's existing network infrastructure. The Infoblox ID Aware™ DHCP Toolkit, available to all users of Infoblox appliances, enables organizations to implement network quarantine, endpoint assessment and remediation, and other services in conjunction with Infoblox DHCP services. These solutions integrate with Microsoft's Network Access Protection technology to ensure that network access is granted only to authorized users and endpoint devices that meet an organization's compliance policies. Microsoft's Network Access Protection technology will be publicly available with Beta 2 of Windows Vista, and available to select partners and customers with Beta 2 of the future version of Windows Server, codename "Longhorn."

The Infoblox ID Aware™ DHCP Toolkit provides an integration point for Network Access Protection partners and other vendors to coexist within a Network Access Protection framework. Through integration with other Microsoft Network Access Protection partners' security tools (e.g. endpoint policy compliance software), the Infoblox ID Aware DHCP Toolkit allows enterprises to apply security policies specific to operating system versions. This helps enterprises maintain a consistent level of security in a mixed operating system environment where different levels of functionality often merit a different mix of security checks and balances.

"To maintain a secure network, organizations must validate and enforce endpoint health and security policies on every device before allowing them to connect to, or communicate with, their IT infrastructure," said Mike Schutz, group product manager, Windows Server Division at Microsoft Corp. "Microsoft welcomes Infoblox's support in providing enhanced endpoint security for customers."

Richard Kagan, vice president of marketing at Infoblox, commented, "Control over the assignment of IP addresses is an essential first step in implementing an effective endpoint security solution. Infoblox appliance-based solutions for DNS, DHCP and related services offer a compelling choice with inherent reliability, management and scalability advantages. We are pleased to be working with Microsoft as part of the Network Access Protection partner ecosystem and look forward to helping enterprises maintain consistent levels of security as they migrate to Windows Server 'Longhorn' and the Windows Vista operating systems."

About the Infoblox ID Aware DHCP Toolkit

In its most basic implementation, the Infoblox ID Aware DHCP Toolkit, which operates in conjunction with Infoblox appliances running the DNSone module, provides authenticated DHCP service by linking DHCP to an organization's existing network and directory infrastructure. This enables cost-effective network protection services without requiring network upgrades or additional network components.

The Toolkit also offers an evolutionary approach to increase levels of security and network access control by integration with any number of third-party applications and network devices for user authentication; endpoint scanning, remediation and patch management; access enforcement; threat mitigation and reporting.

The Toolkit enables the collection and maintenance of real-time and historical data that correlates user identity, device and IP address information. This information can be accessed by products and solutions from a wide variety of vendors to support advanced endpoint security, policy enforcement and compliance reporting applications, and can even be used to detect rogue devices that attempt to bypass the system.
