Infobright Builds on European Expansion With New Customer Wins

TORONTO--(Marketwire - March 8, 2011) - Infobright, the open source analytic database company, today announced that it has won new contracts from customers in the UK and Sweden, capitalizing on its recent move into Europe and the opening of its Dublin headquarters in December last year.

In the UK, BlueFin, the specialist adviser for insurance, employee benefits and financial planning, has purchased the Infobright Enterprise Edition (IEE) database to meet its need for detailed analysis and data warehousing capabilities. Formed from the merger of 14 separate companies, BlueFin wanted a single view of all the data from these different organizations. Infobright's column-based architecture and ability to handle large data volumes will provide BlueFin's management team with a single view of the company, allowing strategic and tactical analysis of the overall business.

Angus Tosh, BlueFin's Orbit Technology Data & Infrastructure Architect, is confident that Infobright will have short- and long-term benefits. He commented, "The Infobright database has delivered huge gains in performance and the high rate of data compression has also meant that we can delay expensive storage solutions for the near- to mid-future."

BizIntel, one of Sweden's emerging SaaS and cloud specialists, has recently licensed Infobright's database to broaden its service offering to customers. With four new projects in development, BizIntel wanted a high-performance database that could simultaneously process and analyze huge volumes of data. As an open source solution, Infobright also supported BizIntel's own technology strategy, in addition to meeting its criteria for cost, flexibility and easy integration with their existing tools, such as Talend's ETL solution.

Mats Tarning, the company's CEO, is delighted that the Infobright solution took less time to implement than originally planned. "We're ahead of schedule for several projects as a result," he commented. "The new database has helped us provide a more comprehensive solution to our customers, including Jula, one of Sweden's leading retailers, where we're using Infobright to develop an extremely sophisticated BI solution."

Don DeLoach, CEO at Infobright, is delighted that the company continues to add customers in both the UK and Sweden. He added, "Our recent move to Dublin has already started to pay dividends, and despite the tough economic conditions, we're seeing strong demand across Europe.

"Customers are facing multiple challenges at present: on top of the need to reduce costs, they're being tasked to provide more information, more quickly, to the business. Infobright's solution has the necessary architecture, performance and analytic capabilities to help them meet these challenges, so I'm confident that our investment in Europe will benefit both the company and our customers."
