Infocast's Renewables West 2011 Summit

Governor Brown Signs Bill Increasing California's Renewable Portfolio Standard to 33% Maximizing Development Opportunities Throughout the West

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - Nov 15, 2011) - Infocast will hold the Renewables West 2011 Summit at the Rancho Bernardo Inn in San Diego, CA -- December 5-6, 2011. This Summit coincides with CA Governor Jerry Brown signing Senate Bill 2 to increase California's Renewables Portfolio Standard (RPS), requiring electric utilities to procure 33% of their energy from renewables by 2020 -- being among the most aggressive renewable energy goals in the United States. However, given how rapidly things are moving, only the well-informed will be able to capitalize on the opportunities driven by increased RPS standards. As a result, Infocast has designed the Renewables West Summit to help participants play a key role in providing new renewable generation capacity.

"This bill will bring many important benefits to California, including stimulating investment in green technologies in the state, creating tens of thousands of new jobs, improving air quality, promoting energy independence and reducing greenhouse gas emissions," said Governor Brown. The Renewables West Summit will address strategies to overcome the hurdles presented by renewables development at a time of transition by providing a forum where key industry players can meet, share information and work together to accelerate renewables development in the West.

The Summit will boast a diverse roster of over 30 speakers from companies Arizona Public Service, Pacific Gas & Electric, Pattern Energy, Iberdrola Renewables, Pinnacle West, Independent System Operator, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, Southwest Power Pool LLC California, and Solar Millenium among many others. The attendees will be provided with the opportunity to assess the landscape, learn about new projects, evaluate prospects, and gain valuable strategies for overcoming project development hurdles to maximize opportunities.
