Infor Delivers Cloud Offering for Public Sector

SaaS Solutions Provide Economical Option for Government Agencies, Helping to Reduce Cost of Ownership and Speed Time to Value

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Dec 5, 2012) - Infor, a leading provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, today announced that the Infor Public Sector Suite, utilized by more than 350 public organizations worldwide, is now available in the cloud. By deploying Infor applications in the cloud, government agencies are able to take advantage of the latest technology to generate savings and accommodate shrinking budgets. The cloud-based offering of Infor Public Sector enables state and local governments to benefit from the same functionality as the on-premise version, helping to significantly reduce the cost of maintaining the software. Without the need to expand IT headcount or purchase on-site hardware, agencies can derive the same value without incurring additional expenses or prerequisites.

"By deploying Infor Public Sector in the cloud, we will remove the need to purchase and maintain costly server hardware and systems, reduce backup and recovery tasks, and provide greater flexibility in meeting our changing demands on system load," said Rick Virmani, DSP program manager, City of Las Vegas. "We look to Infor as our cloud service provider due to their ability to ensure a sound offering for the entire hardware and software stack needed to run our solution."

Infor Public Sector in the cloud enables faster, more efficient implementations, making it easy to deploy at new locations or upgrade to subsequent releases in the future. Infor ION technology also provides interoperability between Infor and non-Infor applications, promoting an end-to-end solution to manage everything from regulatory and compliance management to billing and asset maintenance.

"Infor is helping public agencies prepare for the future by encouraging cloud-based deployment, which provides greater flexibility in terms of implementation and future growth, as well as a lower total cost of ownership," said Kevin Curry, SVP, Public Sector, Infor. "As local and city government budgets continue to tighten, delivering our public sector products in the cloud is essential to help customers face their current economic challenges."
