Infor Recognized as a Leader in Magic Quadrant Report on EAM for Manufacturing

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - October 15, 2009) - Infor today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the leaders quadrant in the "Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) for Manufacturing."(1) The report, available at http://sn.im/infoream-mq, assesses EAM vendors according to their ability to execute and completeness of vision. Infor EAM solutions continue to be recognized by industry analysts and companies worldwide as the de facto standard for monitoring and managing the deployment, performance and maintenance of company assets.

Gartner's report defines leaders as vendors with "a global presence, a large installed base in manufacturing, strong viability and a combination of rich features that include functionality, interfaces to many different ERP (and supporting EAM) applications, and a capable and global implementation partner community." Infor EAM enables asset-intensive organizations, including manufacturers, to save time and money by improving equipment and staff productivity, identifying and reducing excess energy use including electricity, increasing inventory efficiency, and strengthening their ability to collect on warranty-related claims.

"Faced with unprecedented economic challenges, manufacturers can use effective asset management to reduce costs without sacrificing quality and safety to remain viable and competitive," said John Murphy, director, EAM solution marketing, Infor. "I believe that Infor has been categorized in the leaders quadrant because our manufacturing customers receive great value from our solutions, such as maintaining efficient equipment, decreasing expensive downtime, recovering maximum warranty funding, and reducing operating and maintenance costs. Additionally, with Infor EAM, manufacturers can now incorporate energy usage, costs, and environmental impact into their asset management approach to directly reduce energy consumption, by as much as 20 percent."

Infor offers versions of its EAM solutions for any size business and for various business needs. One example is Infor EAM Asset Sustainability Edition, for companies seeking to not only enable asset management best-practices, but also manage, report, and reduce the energy consumption and carbon emissions of their assets.
