The Inforce 6501 Micro SOM is powered by the Qualcomm® Snapdragon 805 processor, a product of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated. The Snapdragon 805 processor with 2.7 GHz CPUs features the Qualcomm® Adreno 420 GPU, Qualcomm® Hexagon™ DSP v50, and dual image signal processors, supporting a comprehensive encoding and decoding Ultra HD (4K) video solution, and delivers high-resolution video and imaging for embedded devices. The Inforce 6501 Micro SOM comes with up to 3GB of PoP LPDDR3 RAM on a 2x64-bit high-bandwidth memory bus to provide fast and seamless multitasking.

Measuring just 28mm x 50mm, the Inforce 6501 Micro SOM targets space constrained embedded systems applications that require 4K HD video and graphics, low power consumption, and high-end CPU, GPU, and DSP compute performance. The Inforce 6501 Micro SOM is designed to make the latest mobile platform technology available to meet the demanding product requirements in portable medical imaging, enterprise collaboration/ videoconferencing, robotics, drones, and hands-free computing/head mounted displays.

The Inforce 6501 Micro SOM complements the Snapdragon 805 processor's capabilities with comprehensive access to peripheral devices and technical support to deliver a full set of benefits to embedded systems developers:
