Information Builders Positioned as a "Hot Vendor" in Ventana Research's Data Integration Value Index

Integration and Information Integrity Leader Ranked Third of All Vendors Surveyed

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Sep 11, 2012) - Information Builders, a leader in business intelligence (BI) and analytics, information integrity, and integration solutions, today announced that it was rated as a "Hot Vendor" in Ventana Research's 2012 Value Index for Data Integration, based upon its ability to deliver a comprehensive suite of solutions for managing the integration process for data sets of all sizes.

The 2012 Value Index for Data Integration evaluated companies across seven key categories: usability, manageability, reliability, capability, adaptability, total cost of ownership, and return on investment. With a rating of nearly 95 percent for highest value overall, Information Builders was ranked third in the report, ahead of companies such as SAP, SAS, and Oracle.

Effective data integration is becoming increasingly important due to the growing number of data sources within the enterprise. According to Ventana's research, 57 percent of organizations currently integrate six or more sources, and this figure is projected to reach 68 percent over the next 12 months. Compounding this challenge is the increasing velocity of data sets, as organizations are struggling to integrate both structured and unstructured data. Software for automating this process is essential for producing timely, high-quality data and for freeing up time and resources for the analysis of this information. Ventana Research found that approximately 66 percent of organizations spend more time manually preparing data than they do on productive analysis.

Information Builders addresses these data quality challenges with real-time and online tools that allow companies to facilitate broad-reaching data quality management initiatives and optimize their enterprise information as a result. These include solutions for profiling and analyzing data to resolve any issues that might impact its accuracy, the ability to cleanse data via an automated rules engine, and capabilities for matching related information across numerous data sets for greater consistency enterprise wide.

"Data integration is essential for every organization, but not always well managed," said Mark Smith, chief executive officer and chief research officer, Ventana Research. "Information Builders provides a robust software offering to help organizations be faster and smarter in their information management efforts. Our analysis of Information Builders ranked them as an overall hot vendor for the breadth and depth of their offering across many key areas, including adaptability, capability, manageability, reliability, and usability."

"Ventana Research's survey underscores that data integration is an essential component of an effective information management strategy," said Gregory Dorman, vice president of iWay Software. "Information Builders has always been committed to ensuring our customers get the greatest value from their enterprise information, and our ranking as a 'Hot Vendor' in the 2012 Value Index for Data Integration is a testament to that fact.
