Information on Alternate Locations for Services Provided by the Government of Canada in Calgary

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - June 24, 2013) - As downtown Calgary continues to be a restricted area, the Harry Hays Building (220 4th Avenue SE) remains closed to the general public at this time. Please note the following information on how to access services from federal departments and agencies, including any alternate points of service, in the Calgary area:

Passport Canada

  • Calgary South office, 14331 Macleod Trail SW.
    Hours of operation 8:30am to 5:30pm.

Service Canada

  • Calgary East

    Hours of operation 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • Calgary South

Canada Revenue Agency

  • Tax relief may be provided to taxpayers who are unable to file returns by July 2 due to flooding or because of other circumstances beyond their control. Business owners and self-employed individuals who were unable to meet their filing and payment obligations may also be eligible. More information is available at the Canada Revenue Agency Website.

  • Tax payments can continue to be made at financial institutions or on-line. See the Canada Revenue Agency Website for information on payment methods.

Citizenship and Immigration

  • Applicants should note that scheduled appointments for the week of June 24th to 28th may need to be rescheduled, as long as the Harry Hays building remains closed. Officials will determine if services may be delivered from an alternate location in Calgary.

Veterans Affairs

  • Clients can continue to call the National Contact Centre Network (NCCN) toll-free number Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm local time.

Public Works and Government Services Canada

  • For any bids on Government of Canada Contracts to be submitted to the Calgary office closing between June 24 and July 1, 2013, please note that the closing date (as per the date on page one of the solicitation) has been extended by seven days. Please check www.buyandsell.gc.ca for the latest information.

Canada Post

  • Flooding and the ongoing emergency situation may have impacted mail and parcel delivery services in your area. Visit www.canadapost.ca for details.
