INFORUM Hosts Dan Savage in Conversation With Daniel Handler

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 10, 2013) - INFORUM announced today that it will host sex advice columnist Dan Savage on June 11, 2013, at The Castro Theatre in conversation with Daniel Handler, aka Lemony Snicket, author, screenwriter and accordionist.

Dan Savage is best known for his internationally syndicated, bawdy sex advice column "Savage Love," where everyday Americans approach him for guidance on everything from parenting transgender children to legitimizing polygamous relationships. Now, fresh off the success of his Emmy-winning It Gets Better campaign, provocateur Savage is at it again in long form with his newest book, "American Savage," where he exposes the common thread of sex and sexuality within the gamut of American identity.

"Sex and sexuality is politicized -- politicians won't leave either subject alone. And our sexual politics impact our ideas about religion, family, and justice," said Dan Savage. "'American Savage' is a collection of essays that tie the sexual, the political, and the personal together."

Guests attending INFORUM's premium reception, held at 6 p.m. PT, will enjoy wine from Bjornstad Cellars and The Right Blend, a copy of Dan's newly released book "American Savage," a toast with Dan Savage by Good Vibrations sexologist Carol Queen and goodie bags courtesy of Good Vibes and Feelmore 510.

INFORUM at The Commonwealth Club is pleased to host "An Evening Affair with Dan Savage and Daniel Handler." Daniel Handler will lead the conversation through Dan's career, the It Gets Better Project, "American Savage," the "gay agenda" and more.

The program takes place at The Castro Theatre in San Francisco on Tuesday, June 11, at 7 p.m. PT. For more information and to register for tickets, call (415) 597-6705 or register online at
