Ingate Systems Joins Pingtel's Ecosystem Partner Program as Key Provider of SIP-Capable Firewalls and NAT Traversal Solutions

Ingate Completes Certification of Ingate Firewalls and SIParators With SIPxchange to Provide NAT Traversal and Seamless Interoperability While Maintaining Superior Control and Security at the Enterprise Network Edge

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 23, 2005 -- VON EUROPE 2005 -- Ingate® Systems (, whose award-winning security products solve the problem of letting Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) traverse enterprise firewalls, and Pingtel Corp., the leading provider of open source, commercial-grade enterprise communications solutions, today announced that Pingtel has completed certification of Ingate Firewall® and Ingate SIParator® products and that Ingate has joined the Pingtel Ecosystem Partner Program as a key provider of SIP-capable firewalls and Network Address Translation (NAT) traversal solutions.

Ingate's SIP-capable Firewalls and SIParators are now fully certified to work with Pingtel's award-winning SIPxchange™, the enterprise SIP PBX for Linux. SIPxchange is the industry's only 100 percent SIP, 100 percent open source enterprise communications platform. By certifying interoperability with Pingtel's SIPxchange, Ingate delivers a key component to enterprise customers and channel partners looking to solve NAT traversal while maintaining superior control and security at the enterprise network edge.

"Joining Pingtel's Ecosystem Partner Program, and the company's certification of Ingate's SIP-enabling Firewalls and SIParators, addresses one of the most critical issues facing technology vendors in this space: interoperability," said Olle Westerberg, Chief Executive Officer, Ingate Systems. "In addition, Ingate products solve NAT traversal and deliver unprecedented control of SIP traffic. These advantages, combined with proven interoperability with Pingtel's SIPxchange, offer enterprise customers and channel partners a tremendous advantage in choosing our products."

Pingtel's ecosystem of partner's hardware includes analog telephone adapters, gateways and other SIP-based enterprise communications products from innovative equipment vendors such as Ingate. Pingtel adds provisioning support via its browser-oriented management console to further simplify the provisioning process. Solution providers and end customers around the world can freely combine ecosystem partner components with SIPxchange to create the ultimate enterprise communications system based on price and performance.

Ingate's SIP-enabling Firewalls and SIParators help solve the NAT traversal issues inherent in SIP communications. The SIParator is a device that connects to an existing network firewall to seamlessly enable the flow of SIP communications. In addition to near-end NAT traversal, Ingate offers Remote SIP Connectivity, a far-end NAT traversal solution that extends the SIP capabilities of the corporate network to remote workers. Ingate also offers VoIP Survival, an application module for hosted VoIP communications services that secures full redundancy in a SIP-based IP hosted PBX environment all the way out to the customer premises.

"Ingate has long been known for the quality of their SIP-enabling products and solutions for NAT traversal and they deliver real value to our customers and channel partners looking to build best-in-breed enterprise communications applications," said William J. Rich, president and CEO, Pingtel. "We at Pingtel are excited to introduce our channels and customers to Ingate's fully certified and supported line of Firewalls and SIParators and to leverage their expertise and experience as we uncover new opportunities and markets."

Products certified as part of Pingtel's Ecosystem Partner Program undergo a rigorous testing and documentation program in Pingtel's test lab to ensure interoperability between the product and SIPxchange. For each product, Pingtel's certification engineers create and execute a specific test plan that covers three areas of interoperability -- SIP compliance, usability and feature compatibility. The SIPxchange documentation details all the steps required for a successful installation of Pingtel certified Ecosystem components. This ensures that end users can quickly configure Ecosystem products with SIPxchange in the field. Pingtel regularly retests vendor products to ensure interoperability is being maintained. Finally, Pingtel supports certified components when used in conjunction with SIPxchange.
