INGENICO makes Europcar's rental contracts paper-free

Neuilly sur Seine -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 21, 2006 -- Neuilly sur Seine -December 21, 2006. Ingenico, a global leader in secure transaction and payment solution has signed an agreement with Europcar to supply it with an electronic signature capture solution. With this contract Europcar and Ingenico are launching the first paper-free car rental contracts in Europe.

The European leader in short-term car rentals, Europcar wanted to implement a paper-free solution for rental agreements in its main European stations at time of vehicle check out. A terminal would allow the customer to display the contractual data (contract, conditions of sale) and validate them using a digitized signature.

To meet this requirement, Ingenico proposed the i6770, a fixed, color, touch-screen terminal designed to rapidly and reliably record customers' electronic signatures. This terminal has a large number of client references, particularly in the United States, where signatures are systematically recorded in cases involving payment using cards with magnetic strips.

Following a pilot phase in 4 stations in Germany, the solution was set up in 5 airports in France, the UK, Portugal, Spain and Belgium. Finally, the Ingenico i6770 terminal was selected for its technical performance, such as the size of the screen, its colors and its very advanced capabilities in terms of signature capture.

"Ingenico's international position and its leadership in the field of electronic payment led us to choose the i6770 terminal", explained Véronique Tourneur, a Business Analyst with Europcar; "The Ingenico solution will allow us to reduce the volume of paper produced in each agency and that handled by the head office once the filing solution has been set up. In line with our strategy of technical development and innovation, the solution has received a very positive welcome, from both our agents and our customers".

"We are very pleased to see that the signature capture technology that we have already introduced into widespread use in the United States has now found a new application in Europe for producing paper-free car rental contracts" comments Didier Sérodon, Ingenico's Marketing Director. "Our various signature capture solutions allow our clients to make significant savings in time and money and to optimize the traceability of contracts and document searches."

The deployment of this solution will continue in the near future in around thirty offices across Europe.
