Ingram Micro North America Receives ISO 14001 Certification

The US and Canadian Businesses of the World's Largest Technology Distributor Are Recognized for Environmental and Sustainability Efforts

SANTA ANA, CA--(Marketwire - February 1, 2011) -  Ingram Micro, Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world's largest technology distributor and supply-chain services provider, announced today that its North American operating unit received ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 14001 certification, recognizing effective environmental management systems.

Through the certification process, Ingram Micro North America demonstrated that it has the systems and processes to: identify and control the environmental impact of its activities and services; continually improve environmental performance; and implement a systematic approach to setting and achieving environmental objectives.

"All our ISO certifications, which also include 9001 (quality) and 27001 (security), represent a standard of excellence our company is proud to achieve," said Keith Bradley, senior executive vice president and president, North America. "The 14001 certification comes on the heels of our nearly 200-spot jump in Newsweek's 2010 Green Rankings and a similar certification in Sweden in 2009. It reinforces our commitment to sustainable business operations throughout the supply chain. Our environmental programs generate clear business benefits -- lower costs from recycling and energy conservation, better connections with our environmentally-focused business partners, and greater engagement with our associates and communities -- and are closely aligned with our values as a trustworthy, accountable corporate citizen. I salute all the members of our North American team for their work toward obtaining this certification; it is a significant achievement."

The company's environmental efforts are part of a global corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative launched last year to measure and promote its activities in sustainability, workplace development and philanthropy. For more information, visit www.ingrammicro.com/smartcitizen.
