Ingram Micro Teams With Manufacturer and Reseller Partners to Give Back to Freret Neighborhood

NEW ORLEANS, LA--(Marketwired - May 9, 2014) - Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world's largest wholesale technology distributor, today announced it teamed with associates, manufacturer and reseller partners to clean and beautify the historic Freret Neighborhood. Coordinated with local organization Neighborhood Housing Services and the Freret Neighborhood Center, the 2014 Spring IMOne Gives Back project, affectionately called "The Great Uptown Tune Up," brought together more than 400 volunteers from the IMOne event and local residents to assist with front yard improvement projects, street clean ups, painting tasks and other community beautification efforts at the local cemetery, playgrounds and schools.

"At Ingram Micro, we strive to give back to the communities in which we work, and this effort is a reflection of that," says Paul Bay, senior executive vice president and president of Ingram Micro North America. "With our inaugural IMOne event taking place in New Orleans, it was a perfect opportunity to work with our partners to serve this community."

Ingram Micro's 2014 Spring IMOne event is taking place this week in New Orleans and includes technology solution providers and manufacturer partners from five distinct Ingram Micro partner communities, including Venture Tech Network (VTN), SMB Alliance, Healthcare, Public Sector Elite and System ArchiTECHs.

"We are so excited to welcome the volunteers from Ingram Micro into the Freret and Milan neighborhoods," says Eva Sohl, director of the Freret Neighborhood Center. "There are ample issues that need to be addressed in this area, and we couldn't do it without the help of devoted and hardworking volunteers. We are grateful for the generosity of Ingram Micro and its employees, and feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the area of focus for this project."

The 2014 Spring IMOne Gives Back project was made possible in part by the generous support of Ingram Micro's manufacturer sponsors AddOn Computer, Cisco, IBM and Microsoft.
