Initial Findings Show Incline Training an Efficient Form of Cardio Exercise

Burning More Fat Calories and Increasing Performance, Preliminary Data Shows Incline Training May Be a Superior Form of Exercise

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO--(Marketwire - March 5, 2008) - Researcher Matt Rhea, Director of Human Movement Program at AT Still University, has been studying the physiological benefits of Incline Training on the FreeMotion Incline Trainer compared to training on a flat surface. Initial findings demonstrate that users may experience far greater benefits walking at an incline versus running on a flat surface.

Demonstrated Benefits of Incline Training

Intense aerobic training tends to burn calories from carbohydrates, whereas Incline Training burns calories from fat more effectively. For example, users walking at 3 MPH between a 16% and 18% incline can burn 70% more fat than running on a flat surface. Users experience less joint impact working out at an incline at a slower pace while realizing the same or greater benefits as high-impact running.

"The wide incline range of the FreeMotion Incline Trainer offers a lot of cardio exercise variety for trainers when building programs for their clients," says Jeremy Strom, Education Manager with FreeMotion Fitness. "Everyone from elite athletes to seniors and the deconditioned can realize outstanding results from working out on the Incline Trainer."

About the FreeMotion Commercial and Light Commercial Incline Trainers

The FreeMotion Incline Trainer is like two machines in one with speeds from 0 to 12 MPH and inclines from -3 to 30% of grade on the commercial version and 0 to 30% for light commercial. Runner's World magazine featured the Incline Trainer as one of its "Top Treadmills" and Men's Health picks it for the "Health and Fitness Gear Guide." The Treadmill Doctor names the Incline Trainer i7.7 as the Best Buy, Best New Treadmill.
