Inland Co-operative Inc.: Swipe & Go Gas Bar Concept Expands to Wellington County

ALMA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 27, 2007) - The second ever Swipe & Go self-serve remotely-monitored gas bar is open for business in rural Ontario. The new structure is located on County Rd. 7 in Alma.

Swipe & Go is a unique service with cutting edge technology invented by Inland Co-operative Inc. that allows rural Ontario the ability to purchase fuel 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

"Residents of Alma and surrounding areas are used to driving up to 12 kilometers to fill up," says Andy Troyer, vice president of Energy with FS PARTNERS, a management group for organizations including Inland Co-op.

"Swipe & Go will give local residents the convenience of being able to buy gas close to home," he adds. In addition to providing anytime fueling, the gasoline is environmentally friendlier, using ethanol blended fuels.

Swipe & Go cardlocks accept Visa, MasterCard, debit cards and customers' co-op credit cards from Inland Co-operative Inc, Waterloo-Oxford Co-operative Inc. and Simcoe District Co-operative Services. The location is monitored via cameras and has two-way speakers; if a customer encounters any problems, he or she can speak to the attendant and resolve any problems that may arise.

The facility is owned by Ray Grose of Alma.

Inland Co-op is owned by more than 5,600 members and provides customers with grain marketing services, livestock feed, agronomy, consumer and petroleum products. The co-operative operates through six locations in Drayton, Harmony, Grand Valley, Milverton, Mitchell, and Stratford. It is also a member-owner of regional co-operative, GROWMARK, Inc., and supports the FS brand.
