Inland Imaging Selects M*Modal for Clinical Documentation Technology

Leader in Diagnostic Medical Imaging to Leverage M*Modal Fluency and M*Modal Catalyst Solutions to Improve Patient Safety and Radiology Efficiency

FRANKLIN, TN--(Marketwired - Nov 21, 2013) - M*Modal, a leading provider of clinical documentation services and Speech Understanding™ solutions, today announced that Inland Imaging has expanded its eight year relationship with M*Modal by selecting M*Modal Fluency for Imaging™ and M*Modal Catalyst for Radiology™ cloud-based solutions for creating complete, accurate and compliant clinical documentation.

Leveraging a single architecture, M*Modal software delivers intelligent Speech Understanding with real-time physician feedback, enabling radiologists to more efficiently capture the fullness of the patient story, gain insights from the narrative and drive actions that support improved patient care. Inland Imaging previously used M*Modal SpeechQ for Radiology® documentation software.

M*Modal Fluency for Imaging allows radiologists to conversationally create electronic and encoded documents as well as optimize workflows to increase productivity. M*Modal Catalyst for Radiology further extends these capabilities by aggregating data across multiple clinical systems and translating patient information into actionable medical insights.

Inland Imaging, a division of Integra Imaging, PS, has become one of the largest diagnostic radiology practices in Washington State, serving as a major resource for cost-effective medical imaging for patients and hospitals across the Pacific Northwest. The Spokane and Seattle-based facilities have 60 subspecialty radiologists that read nearly 800,000 exams each year.

"Despite the rising cost of healthcare, outpatient imaging costs at Inland have remained significantly less than at other regional medical imaging providers," said Jon Copeland, CEO of Nuvodia, the IT division of Inland Imaging. "Each Inland Imaging center and hospital organization is designed with the patient in mind, allowing us to deliver lower costs and improved service levels. We are constantly adopting the most groundbreaking technology, and with M*Modal Fluency workflow and analytical tools, our radiologists can make more complete and accurate interpretations with optimal efficiency."

"Practices like Inland Imaging understand how important it is to have tools that can provide a fast, comprehensive view of patient imaging records that can integrate with the radiologists' workflow," said Duncan James, CEO of M*Modal. "M*Modal Fluency and M*Modal Catalyst products leverage a single architecture and are designed to fit into the imaging specialist's daily activities which improves productivity."

The ability to auto-populate clinical content into the radiology report from multiple EMR/RIS/PACS systems, as well as provide radiologists real-time feedback for compliance issues, helps increase patient safety and streamlines the reporting process. Clinical analytics allow imaging specialists to manage patient information across the enterprise by automatically detecting relevant patient data and displaying the information to the radiologist while they are dictating, on a single screen. M*Modal solutions also offer integrated critical test result management and peer review modules.

Inland's implementation of Fluency, systems integrations, platform and IT support is provided by Nuvodia.
