The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc. Wins Digie Award for Enterprise Mobility

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 29, 2011) - The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc. ("Inland"), whose member companies own and manage more than 126 million square feet of commercial property nationwide, was a recipient of a Digie Award at the Realcomm 2011 tradeshow. The award recognizes Inland's achievements in mobilizing business data and property management information.

The Digie Awards honor companies, projects and solutions that represent the most innovative use of technology and automation in commercial and corporate real estate. Inland qualified for an award on multiple levels. Some Inland companies now rely on enterprise mobility to enhance the productivity of property managers, maintenance supervisors and leasing agents.

"The resources available to the Inland companies include a very comprehensive JD Edwards ERP system and custom built SQL data warehouse," said Kevin McCann, Inland's IT director. "The most current information wasn't available to employees on site. They relied on printed reports, which could be out of date and were expensive to produce. Webalo connected the existing enterprise with the most current data to the employees' smartphones without creating mobile apps or duplicating capabilities and without incurring the expense of traditional mobile development."

After mobilizing the enterprise with Webalo, property managers now spend less time retrieving needed information and more time using it. Once on site, employees can use Webalo on their smartphones to check the current status of rent receivables, review upcoming lease expirations, check on outstanding work orders for repairs and improvements, look up and contact approved vendors, access staff and tenant phone numbers and review the history and status of onsite safety equipment.

Those capabilities and benefits resonated with the Digie Award judges. "At the point where a traditional development effort would still be defining scope, identifying resources and defining metrics for ROI, employees in the field were already using Webalo to do their jobs," said Inland's John Bedlek, solutions account manager. "In the current difficult economic climate, we were able to quickly and economically provide better service to tenants, more information to property managers and leasing agents and most importantly, greater value to investors."

"Webalo uses a step-by-step configuration process that can literally take just minutes to complete and deploy," said Peter Price, Webalo's CEO. "As a result, IT can quickly and easily mobilize their enterprise resources without installing software, learning new skills, spending weeks or months in development or creating and maintaining a whole new layer of mobile applications. They just connect directly to what already exists. As Inland has shown, that's particularly valuable."

About Webalo

Webalo changes the economics of enterprise mobility. It provides the enterprise-to-mobile infrastructure that puts enterprise data and functions on smartphones 100 times faster than traditional approaches to mobile application development, and it provides personalized mobile capabilities that meet the individual needs of any end user.

Webalo technology eliminates the need for traditional mobile application development tools and custom programming to provide -- in hours, instead of weeks or months -- mobile access to the specific enterprise data and functions that smartphone users rely on to do their jobs. Rather than build new mobile applications or purchase proprietary mobile versions of a vendor's enterprise applications, organizations can use Webalo to let administrators easily select, from their existing enterprise applications, the exact data and functions that mobile users need so they can work more efficiently and productively.

Webalo -- available in hosted and virtual appliance versions -- lets non-IT business administrators easily and rapidly configure the connections between smartphones and enterprise apps from vendors such as IBM, Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft, as well as from in-house applications. Then, in seconds, Webalo conforms the settings to the native user interface of any Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, Symbian, Windows Mobile, or Java-enabled smartphone or tablet.

Founded in 2000, Los Angeles-based Webalo is privately held. Additional information about Webalo's products, customers, and partners is available at and Follow Webalo on Twitter at @WebaloInc.
